MAY 2026

FOWLER Safety & Health Week

This month, we recognized Safety & Health Week, organized by Health & Safety Canada.

For the first week of May, our social media featured all of our training, systems and team members in place, ensuring that FOWLER is a safe work environment for our team and the public.

From our culture to our training and awards system to our safety protocols and signage, our ultimate goal is to equip everyone with the best safety practices and ensure we have no incidents on the job!

MEET THE MANAGER

Mike Schilkie is relatively new to FOWLER, joining as the new QC Manager in July 2025.

His career began in 1986 in Ottawa, working as a Lab Supervisor and Project Chemist for BetzDearborn. Over the next four decades, he worked in Quality Labs, supporting manufacturing across a wide variety of industries, including specialty chemicals for industrial water treatment, blown polyethylene film for food packaging and stone wool for thermal and acoustical insulation. His motto is, "My door is always open; come see me any time."

Mike and his wife resided in Burlington for nearly 30 years before moving to Huntsville. Mike was thrilled to become a part of the FOWLER team and is committed to contributing to our continued success.

FOWLER Safety Shoutout

We’re delighted to share a well-deserved shoutout to Devon S., Simcoe CDMC, for his quick response and outstanding assistance to a stranded motorist on Highway 400.

“First on the scene with his lights on. [Motorist] was stranded in the left lane on a hill, so it was wonderful that he arrived so quickly! He even beat the OPP and the tow truck to the scene. Thank you, FOWLER!”

Great work, Devon! Thank you for stepping up to help, putting safety first and representing the FOWLER team so well.

FOWLER Yellow Hat Graduation

We were thrilled to present Mac L. with his yellow hat this morning! Congratulations, Mac, it was well deserved!

Joining in the celebration are Bonnie R. and Chris A.
